I know I’ve listened to this release before, but I must have been distracted at the time, because it hit me like a ton of bricks. In my opinion, this is one of the greatest releases the band has ever put out, and absolutely essential listening. It’s what the 2014 and 2015 two-set tours should have been, and what I hope we get again at some point in the future. A perfect melding of intimacy, intensity, and musicianship. Are all of the performances flawless? No, but they’re damn close. The official store says the highlight of the show is the debut of #40, which is special, but to me the entire show is at such a high level that it doesn’t stand out (in the best possible way). This will be on repeat for a long time. I’m so, so glad they released this even though the start of WAREHOUSE was missing from the tape.
