Live Trax Vol. 37

To hear the band at this very point in their career is fascinating. The catalogue depth is almost unbelievable. The improvisation (how about those Boyd jams?), the stage banter, the interaction with the audience… hearing them have so fun in *the* club is awesome. But this release is much, much more than a time capsule. Putting aside its novelty factor, it’s simply an incredible performance. You can hear and feel the era in each of the songs (much but not all of this coming from Peter’s unique style on the keys), but almost every individual song performance can go toe-to-toe with those from the rest of the band’s history. It’s a true example of how incredible this band is. I also love the mix; not the warmest or fullest by any stretch, but perfect for the moment (and Stefan is clearer than he’s maybe ever been before). Hopefully there are more LT releases from 1992 to come in the future… and could we dare to dream of getting one from 1991?
