An absolutely brilliant release. Great setlist, Dave’s voice is strong throughout, the guitars sound great, and the mix is excellent. I also love that all of the dialogue is left in; it’s part of what makes D&T shows so great. In the pantheon of officially released D&T shows, I rank it behind Luther College and possibly DMBL22, but to be sure it’s absolutely top notch and a regular listen for me. The performances aren’t flawless—exemplified by Dave’s “oh shit” during HELP MYSELF—but somehow the flubs here and there are part of the looseness and greatness of the show. That opening run from GRANNY through DON’T DRINK (maybe even STAY) is really something else. It’s a small complaint, but the tracking isn’t perfect: sometimes the dialogue or noodling is stuck at the start of a song rather than the end.
