This is a solid show, but 1995 has a lot of competition. There are plenty of highs: How beautiful is that PROUDEST? JIMI and PAY FOR are also real standouts. David Ryan Harris slays across the board. ONE SWEET is also a solid performance. EXODUS is, at least for me, a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, it’s been played so rarely that it’s great to have any well-mixed version. And, everyone gets their turn: Roi, DRH, Boyd. On the other hand, it feels a bit disjointed and comes nowhere close to packing the punch of 12/13/2000 with Warren. Can this be a top-tier 1995 show without SEEK UP, BEST, and LIE IN? I lean towards no. And then there are some oddities in this show, like the offbeat stop-time intro to WAREHOUSE.
