Live Trax Vol. 62

Says the official release notes, "This setlist from the band's eleventh visit to Blossom Music Center stands apart from all other 2010 releases with its segues, teases and reprises. It is anything but straightforward and definitely a fun listen from top to bottom." This is among the more honest Live Trax release notes; they're telling you why it was selected, and whether or not you agree with the decision it's hard to dispute the reasoning. The problem is that I don't think it's a fun listen "from top to bottom;" rather, it's a hit-or-miss show that ranks near the bottom of the 2010 releases we've reviewed so far. The whole STAND UP > CORNBREAD > RECENTLY run is interesting, but reminds me of the RRHOF medley: not something I'd *choose* for the band to do in a full show. CAN'T STOP must be among the best performances of that song ever. LITTLE RED BIRD is also great. But everything else is mediocre, and the mix is muddled.
