Live Trax Vol. 71

This is best appreciated as a Walk Around the Moon album tour release, and indeed, WALK AROUND, MONSTERS, and MADMAN'S EYES are among the highlights of the show. The mix is fantastic, continuing a welcome trend. Other highlights are FOOL IN THE RAIN (much as it pains me to say it, that baritone sax is :chef's kiss:), AM. BABY INTRO (this is Buddy at his absolute best), SO RIGHT (Jeff rocks the solo), DIE TRYING (which has become a monster; Jeff, Buddy, and Rashawn all shine), and TWO STEP (I really appreciate the jazziness of the jam). Lowlights? Well, I really don't care for the Chuck Leavell guest spot, for starters. I don't mind covers, but I do mind when there's basically no sax or violin, as is the case for both of these. The ending run of LIE IN > YOU & ME > RAPUNZEL doesn't do much for me. Comparing this show with the other DMB 4.0 entries in the Live Trax series, it's firmly ahead of LT46 but firmly behind LT69 in my book.
