Live at Piedmont Park

Another release that I've never gotten particularly worked up about. There are some real highs here, but plenty of meh, too. Let's start with the highs. ONE SWEET is a great opener and performance, and I love Butch's happy birthday tribute to Roi (and Roi thanking him on the mic!). TWO STEP is strong, and I love the improv throughout. DREAMING TREE is fantastic and probably the highest of the night, and I particularly love Stefan's improv towards the end. WATCHTOWER, from Stefan's solo intro through to the end, is a powerhouse, and I love the old-school segue into ANTS. Now for the lows. DON'T DRINK is dragged out way, way too long. WHAT WOULD is a waste of Warren; it doesn't do anything for me. MELISSA is a novelty that I don't need to revisit. I absolutely despise the stop-time TOO MUCH bridge. #40 is a train wreck. Overall, not one I'm excited to revisit. And frankly, with the exception of 10/2/2007, I probably feel that way about all of Summer 2007.
