Warehouse 2025

Five tracks into this release I originally wrote: "It has a great mix and is a very 2024 show, which is to say you can really hear the extent to which Dave’s voice and Carter's playing have degraded over the years. Tim and Buddy are very prominent. Don't interpret this to mean I don’t like it—there’s actually some really great stuff here—but I can't imagine myself returning to it often when LT3, LT7, LT20, LT47, etc. are always calling." Well, I ended up listening to the entire show 3-4 times and my opinion is a bit different. I think I'll still reach for older shows most of the time, but this is a very, very good release. SPOON, VIRGINIA, SWEET, CAN'T STOP (!!!), MONSTERS, SUGAR WILL, BREAK FREE, LIE IN, and JUST BREATHE are all great listens. The roughest parts of the release are ANTS, SPACEMAN, SPACE, and even parts of TYPICAL. But I would listen to the show straight through to get that DMB 4.0 hit any day of the week. Frankly I'm surprised by how compelling I find it to be. If there were other 2024 releases I may rate this lower, but there aren't.
